APPLICATION ENGINEER, LIGHT METALS DIVISION
Ljunghäll Light Metals Division are now searching for an Application Engineer.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As an Application Engineer you work closely together with the Sales team with responsibility for engineering activities for our plants world-wide, which includes understanding of the costumers´ needs, developments and requirements. In addition, business development, new customer acquisitions and extending product fields. You work in close cooperation and communication with Sales, Engineering and other functions within the LMD organization.
Main responsibilities include;
- Ensuring the sales´ technical support within project acquisition, customer development, process improvement and product cost improvements.
- Main contact person to customers relating to engineering, prototype, financials, customer satisfaction, new project and pricing as well as process improvements.
- Define technical needs and support for development as well as prototype business (pre-contact costumer before RFQ).
- Support in RFQ process, defining possible process flow and required machines and toolings. Thus calculating machine parameter in cooperation with Engineering department.
- Support in claim and pricing negotiations with customers.
- Work within the framework of the company rules, IATF 16949, VDA regulations and customers’ demands and contracts.
- Independently organizing and performing business trips to customers in addition to customer visits on-site.
. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in Engineering functions within automotive industry and University degree in Engineering.
- Process knowledge and experience in die casting processes.
- Knowledge and work experience of PPAP and APQP.
- Fluent in English. German is preferable.
- Knowledge and experience in IATF 16949 and VDA6.3 as well as SAP, MS-Office and MS-Project.
